Testimonials for Fanning Springs State Park
- "I spent quite an amount of time at Fanning Springs this past summer of 2003. It was the best park I have ever been to! The rangers were the most informative, gracious, and fun-loving hosts anyone could ever ask for. In addition to the Jr. Ranger information, my four daughters learned a wealth of knowledge, and was able to have positive role models from the staff at Fanning Springs. They all wanted to be a ranger when they got old enough. I was elated at how clean and beautiful the park was. I am forever thankful to the staff, who are very dedicated to the preservation of natural Florida, and the people who are lucky enough to visit."

Amy Fogg - Trenton, FL - We recently had the great fortune to stay in Cabin #5, at your gorgeous park.
We wanted to commend you on the fantastic accommodations, and to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful, clean, serene, and afforded us the opportunity to just absorb the peace of the surroundings.
Somehow, I feel that the staff takes great pride in making your park the special place it is, and felt I wanted to convey our gratitude for your efforts and attention to detail that, I am sure, is not covered in any manual.
We are eagerly looking forward to a return to your park for a weeks stay next year, and will book the dates just as soon as the opportunity opens up.
Trudy Hatfield - Okeechobee, FL - We visited and stayed at Fanning Springs State Park 7/18-7/20/06. Best kept secret in the Florida Parks system! The cabins are perfect and the springs are beautiful. We enjoyed boating in the Suwanee River and visiting Manatee Springs. The fishing appeared to be very good, although we didn't go to fish. A++
Tom Norton - Fernandina Beach, FL - I love fanning.Hope they go ahead with construction of the additional cabins. We are always treated like family when we visit.
melise ankersen - mobile, al - We recently spent a long weekend in Cabin #2 and had a marvelous and relaxing time. The accomodations are very comfortable, clean, and NOT having a TV was great. My husband and I relaxed, talked, had a big bonfire out back and just loved canoeing on the Suwanee River and having dinner at the Gazebo overlooking the River. The Springs were beautiful as well and we the park in general.
We will be back for sure.
Agnes Armstrong - Apopka, Fl - We recently stayed in cabin # 2, we went for my mom's 90th birthday, she loves spending time with the family so a group of her family members stayed with her, she was very happy and loved the cabin, the porch with the rocking chairs, and of course the park, she is always very cold so we never thought she was going to get in the cold water of the river, she got in the water and loved it. But she did a lot of other things that we never expect that she was going to do at her age. The park rangers and everyone there were very nice and treated us very nice. We all loved it, and are sure looking forward to staying there again very soon. Thanks Again Danny Carratala, Vivian Carratala and Joel Barrios. Hilda Rodriguez
Vivian Carratala - Miami, Florida - We spent a long weekend in one of the cabins in May 2008 and had a fabulous time. The cabin was easily a five star with its attention to detail like clotheslines for the wet towels and bathing suits, cleanliness and that magnificent porch. While swimming in Fanning Springs a pod of manatees came through – what an unexpected treat this time of year. My 9 year old daughter was able to watch them swim through while snorkeling the perimeter of the spring that and jumping from the platform were her favorite activities. I enjoyed the proximity to the Nature Coast Trail giving us an opportunity to tour around on our bikes. We also traveled down the road to spend the day at Manatee Springs – another of Florida’s beauties. The only distraction at Fanning Springs was the boat engine exhaust from the floating dock – I would love to see that dock moved out of the run and into the Suwannee River. We play to return again – thanks for the great spring weekend.
Amy Haile - Tampa, FL - July 2008
We were at the park yesterday and we were just blown away by the natural beauty. From the time you enter the park you are aware how well maintained it is. Staff is constantly walking around and cleaning up any litter or debris and park goers seem to follow the staff's example. The colors of the springs reminds me of the Carribean. We were lucky enuf to see Jumpin Sturgeon in the Suawannee from our picnic table. We will definitely be back and maybe take advantage of renting a cabin for the nite.
